The Charger Challenge is the annual fall fundraiser for The Chargers Parent Organization. This is the parent group of our school. The organization budget consists of revenue from Charger fees, Charger Challenge and the Shamrock gala. With this income, the organization pays for many wonderful items and activities for the school and students. In past years we have been able to purchase athletic equipment and uniforms, fund coaches’ fees, vocal music materials, band instruments and materials, field trips, a new phone system, teacher appreciation, technology updates and more. This past year we were able to completely remodel the gym (which also doubles as the school’s cafeteria and auditorium). The new bleachers, paint, acoustic panels and wall coverings have been a wonderful enhancement to our school.
The Charger Challenge challenges students and families to ask friends, neighbors and relatives to donate to the Charger Challenge. Any increment is appreciated, but for the various giving levels students earn incentives. The goal is to have 100% participation for all 194 students in PreK-8th grade. If the school achieves certain milestones, there are additional incentives built in.
The fundraiser culminated on Friday, Oct. 5 where it was announced that together we raised over $26,000!! Students also took part in a scavenger hunt and dance party that afternoon.
Here are a few of the fun incentives the student body will get to enjoy:
