Parent Teacher Conferences
This is an important week in the education of your child. Recognizing that parents are the primary educators of their children, we take that very seriously. Few opportunities are set aside for you to have a face to face conversation with your child's teacher, and we are providing one of those chances this week with parent teacher conferences. Sure, you are receiving phone calls when appropriate and probably many email messages throughout the course of the week, but these venues pale in comparison to the value of this conference.
For a minimum period of fifteen minutes, you will have the undivided attention of your child's teacher. They will share with you information on academic progress, areas of needed growth, and give you a summary of behavior. You will also have the chance to share other vital information with the teacher that may prove helpful moving forward throughout the course of the year.
Sure, you may have had the chance to do some of this during parent visit day, or during a phone conversation or email, but those communications are taking place within the context of hundreds of other conversations and communications throughout the day. You do not want to miss this very important chance!
I have charged my staff with a goal, and that is to have 100 percent attendance at parent teacher conferences. If your schedule doesn't allow this conference to occur this week, the teacher will be contacting you to set one up. Please help my teachers reach the goal of 100 percent attendance, and help your child reach their fullest potential in the classroom.
