Public Relations
The St. Joseph Catholic School Public Relations Committee is a group of volunteers whose purpose is to set strategic communication goals and plans to reach various target audiences of the school, and then also to implement those plans.
These plans communicate a message relevant to each target audience to showcase the benefits of a Catholic education at St. Joseph. We look at the school’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and other primary and secondary sources of information on the school to help in our planning. Having a well thought out, cohesive yet flexible plan allows us to stay focused on the message we want to convey using mediums that best convey this message.
Some tactics the committee has done or has in process include:
- New tag line to help better brand the school
- Parent cards for referrals
- More school information in the church bulletin
- Table tents to use at various events
- Preschool survey
- “Get to Know Us” party for church toddlers/preschoolers
- Alumni news published more
- Tuition referral credit program
- Preschool collateral items (brochures, postcards, etc.)
- New family BBQ & buddies
- Teacher profiles
- Collaboration with Technology Committee on website
- Informational sign in front of school
- School speakers bureau; promoting this to community groups
- Bi-annual school newsletter in church bulletin
- Assistance with kindergarten info night and Marion’s Best Kept Secret
- Media relations for special events
